The first Goulburn Valley Business Rural and Industry Network (GV BRaIN) event for 2018 was "An Evening Featuring Layne Beachley".

(Wednesday 7th of March, 2018 The Woolshed - Emerald Bank - 7719 Goulburn Valley Highway, Kialla)

Over 170 locals sat in awe as Layne Beachley recounted her astounding exploits, outlined her attitude to life and reflected on her inspirational achievements.

The GV BRaIN Committee thanks Layne for being so generous with her time and making our first event for 2018 truly memorable.

Plans are well underway for our next event planned for May-June 2018.

Layne Beachley AO is widely regarded as the most successful female surfer in history. The only surfer, male or female, to claim six consecutive world titles (1998-2003). Layne then went on to win a 7th world title in 2006 before retiring from the ASP World Tour in 2008. Now as a motivational speaker, trainer and mentor Layne inspires individuals and teams to clarify their vision and achieve sustained success.

On Australia Day 2015, Layne was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for her distinguished service to the community through support for a wide range of charitable organisations, as a mentor for women in sport and as a world champion surfer.

Layne achieved yet another first in Australian sport by becoming Surfing Australia's new Chairperson in the latter part of 2015. She is the first former female World Champion of any sport to take on the role as Chair in a National Sporting organisation.

Layne is also the proud Founder and Director of her own charity, the Layne Beachley Foundation, Aim For The Stars, fostering courage and self belief in young girls and women to achieve their dreams in a diverse range of pursuits including science, business, environment, sport and the arts.

Her exploits are astounding, her attitude unwavering and her achievements inspirational.

Welcome to GV BRaIN

GV BRaIN was initiated in 2007 to give the business, rural and industrial communities of the Goulburn Valley an opportunity to network and access information through functions and events. The network also endeavors  to encourage people to do their business locally and to give local businesses an opportunity to promote themselves.

GV BRaIN is a local networking group that provides access to:
• Relationship building
• Leadership
• Knowledge
• Business promotion

It does this by coordinating four major networking events each year. The events are attended by 200 to 300 people and will have a high profile, entertaining and informative speaker.
